&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The Media Giraffe Project summit/conference at UMass Amherst presents a half-day Citizen Filmmaking Workshop &amp;amp; Festival on the afternoon of Thurs., June 29, 2006 at Amherst, Mass. Here is a tentative schedule of workshops, including information about the topics covered and the invited participants.&lt;br /&gt;

=== 12:30-1:45  Intro to online filmmaking ===&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We will talk about shooting films using consumer digital camcorders, digital&lt;br /&gt;
cameras that shoot video, cellphones.  We will talk about doing editting&lt;br /&gt;
with tools like iMovies, Movie Maker and other tools out there.  We will also &lt;br /&gt;
spend time talking about different types of encoding.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We will also have a brief discussion about animation techniques, including the use&lt;br /&gt;
of machinima and 3D rendering tools.&lt;br /&gt;

Once you have shot and editted film, how do you get these distributed?  We&lt;br /&gt;
will talk about using sites like YouTube, blip.tv, Castpost, Clipshack,&lt;br /&gt;
DailyMotion, vSocial, Google videos, archive.org to store and share videos.&lt;br /&gt;
We will talk about projects like the those of Participatory Culture&lt;br /&gt;
Foundation and we will talk about reaching beyond the online world to&lt;br /&gt;
community access and beyond.&lt;br /&gt;
