Journalism That Matters collaborates with the [http://www.spj.org/norcal/ Northern California chapter] of the Society of Professional Journalists on a day-long JournaTech Expo. NewsTools2008.org participants are automatically enrolled in the day; a one-day registration (including box lunch) is available from [http://www.spj.org/norcal/ SPJ.]
Today represents a joining of two rivers involving both journalists and technologists.

*Those NewsTools2008 participants who still have work to do on their concept/design/build projects from Thursday and Friday can resume their work in the Yahoo center. This projects, initiatives and seedling companies can continue hacking.
 
====The JournaTech Expo====
*Meanwhile, the [[http://www.spj.org/norcal/ Northern California chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists] (SPJ) opens a one-day ''JournaTech Expo'' and seminar. In the morning, individuals, groups, organizations and companies will use the main meeting space to "expose" their info-tech ideas to NewsTools2008 participants ''and'' SPJ one-day attendees. To register a JournoTech exhibit, email proposal details to [mailto:jtm@mediagiraffe.org jtm@mediagiraffe.org].

*After lunch, SPJ will convene two sets of workshops, panels or seminars on journalism/media topics relevant to the region. The SPJ program specifics will begin to be posted during February.

PRELIMINARY AGENDA FOR Saturday, May 3 -- the work continues

Purpose: Provide the time and space to:

  • Take the NewsTools2008 design/build work further
  • Connect with more regional working journalists
  • Share concept/design/build results with others

Today represents a joining of two rivers involving both journalists and technologists.
