RETURN TO NewsTools2008 program
AGENDA FOR Saturday, May 3 -- SPJ at NewsTools2008

Today represents a joining of two rivers involving both journalists and technologists.
Project work continues
- Those NewsTools2008 participants who still have work to do on their concept/design/build projects from Thursday and Friday are resuming their work in the Yahoo center. These projects, initiatives and seedling companies can continue hacking.
The JournaTech Expo at the Domain Hotel
- Meanwhile, at the Domain Hotel, the [Northern California chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) opens a one-day JournaTech Expo and seminar. In the morning, individuals, groups, organizations and companies will use the Domain Hotel conference facility to "expose" their info-tech ideas to NewsTools2008 participants and SPJ one-day attendees. To register a JournoTech exhibit, email proposal details to jtm@mediagiraffe.org.

Afternoon workshops, panels, seminars
- After lunch, SPJ will convene two sets of workshops, panels or seminars on journalism/media topics relevant to the region. The SPJ program specifics will begin to be posted during February.
Briefings and the next steps
- At 3:30 p.m., SPJ, NewsTools and Expo participants will all gather for final briefings and next-step announcements from the NewsTools2008 project workers.
One-day registration available soon
NewsTools2008.org participants are automatically enrolled in the day's activities at the Domain Hotel; a one-day registration (including box lunch) for Saturday will be available soon from SPJ.
