UMASS TRANSIT VAN -- 4:45 p.m. Wednesday
The Media Giraffe Project has scheduled a 4:45 p.m. pickup by a UMass Transit Service van for any MGP2006 attendees arriving at Hartford-Bradley before that time. The van will leave the Terminal A baggage claim curb at that time. The driver's cell phone number is: 413-531-0499. You will be asked to pay $20 upon conference registration for the ride ($10 each for two or more members of same party); the driver cannot accept payment. The van will run NONSTOP from the airport for the 55-minute drive (assuming light traffic) to the UMass Campus Center Hotel and Gorman Hall dormitory. The van is owned and operated by the UMass Transit Service. Email conference@mediagiraffe.org and call 413-577-4370 so we can alert the driver of your name and flight arrival time.
Valley Transporter
The private Valley Transporter van service is also available at 800-872-8752. From Bradley, one-way rates with advanced reservation are $45 first seat, $25 second seat, $10 each additional seat. Valley Transporter may make intermmediate stops.
Auto rental -- Enterprise group rate
All major auto rental agencies have counters at Bradley airport.
Enterprise Rent-a-Car has a group rate for UMass conferences which the Enterprise office in Amherst says may be used by MGP2006 attendees. The rate is $35/day for a compact. You access it by going to http://www.enterprise.com. After selecting rental dates, drop down and put "T17175" (no quotes) in the box requesting "Optional: Coupon, Customer, or Corporate Number". When the next screen asks for the first 3 characters of your company's name or PIN number, enter: "UNI" (no quotes). That will then bring up the UMass contract rates, which may be lower (or higher) than what is otherwise offered.
