Mainstream new media, eh? Remember when such a designation was an oxymoron?

Michael, I am interested in hearing if you think the concept for Public Insight Journalism translates well to other mainstream media outlets such as newspapers or magazines.

Skoler:  The key idea of Public Insight Journalism (PIJ) is that journalism can be stronger and more relevant if reporters, editors and producers partner with the public, tap its knowledge, and create continuing relationships with public sources. That applies to journalism in any form.  We developed PIJ for regional radio news in Minnesota, but are now testing the model for our national radio shows like Marketplace, Weekend America and Speaking of Faith... and the initial results look promising.
